scared

I am sooo scared that there is something serious going on.. I cannot drink anything and if I do I get an excruiating pain on my left side of my body under my ribs. I am scared because I was a self pay. I am scared that it is going to have to be deflated or removed and I am going to gain all of my weight back. I am so sore I just want to lay here and cry. I feel guilty that I if this does not work that I have failed again. I do not ever want to go back to that insecure unhealthy girl. What can I say. I go see my family doctor today and then I hope he contacts the surgeons. I can not get into see them until tomorrow and not sure what they are going to do for it. I want the xrays done. I have asked for them when I was having issues last summer but was always told lets un fill and see how that goes. So I want them this time. Not sure if it is going to cost money or if I can get it done here. I am so scared. What if it is something really wrong. Anyways thanks for letting me vent.

  1. Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear this.
If you can't drink anything you need to be seen ASAP, maybe in the ER. Can't they do the x-rays there? You need to make them take excellent care of you. The money will be figured out later, your health is most important.

  3. Dont be scared. If you need an unfill, it will be because you probably have swelling. when I had my first unfill, it was immediate relieve and than when I had my endoscope a few weeks later and my doc determined that everything was where it should be, he started to refll me again. Most important thing is to listen to doc.

  4. Don't be scared Michelle. What's the worse that can happen? That it will cost you money to get fixed - because it IS fixable. I've heard of this loads of times. And if you get into debt, you're the sort of person who will tighten your belt (no pun intended) for a while and just get on with paying it back. Your health is more important, and you need the band for that. Let us know how you get on.

  5. Thinking of you. After my last unfill in March I had pain everytime I swallowed. I think it was spasms but around the band because I had been so tight. It took two days of clear fluids to settle down. I hope you can get in soon, but I don't think it will be a big problem. You might ask for an endoscopy to see what the pouch looks like on the inside and to see if you have a hiatus hernia popping up into the esophagus. Take care and keep us posted.

  6. I know how scary this is Michelle. If something is wrong it can be fixed, money be damned. Hang in there!

If my printer hadn't been on the fritz I would have printed this off and taken it with me to the ER when I went in 3 wks ago.

It might help if your regular Dr isn't real familiar with the Band.
